DALLAS ROCKS - Our 3rd monthly Happy Hour!

Our next Dallas Rocks Happy Hour is planned for Wednesday, September 15th at Gloria's at 3715 Greenville Avene, a location near Mile 9 of the Marathon course. Gloria's serves up the best authentic Southern American food that is positively delicious!

October's Dallas Rocks Happy Hour will be on Thursday, October 14th at a location to be determined. See info about our past two Dallas Rocks Happy Hours in the blog section of our web site.

Final details of the Dallas Rocks Happy Hour will be published both on our Facebook account and listed here when the schedule is finalized. 


 New Race Date – Sunday, December 5, 2010!

We’ve moved the race back to the first weekend of December, which was traditionally the weekend we held our race on each year. Additionally, the date allows us to take full advantage of all of the amenities available at Fair Park without competing for parking, etc., with other events occurring at the same time.


New Start & Finish Location!

The MetroPCS Dallas White Rock Marathon, Half Marathon, SMU Cox Corporate Relay and the 5-Person Relay Race has moved the start and finish lines to historical Fair Park, site of the State Fair of Texas. We’ve also moved the Mayor’s 5k Race and Fun Run, held the day before the marathon, to Fair Park. 

 

With consistent growth in participant numbers we needed to find a location that had more parking, larger open areas, and easy access to accommodate increased runner numbers. Fair Park provides our race participants with expanded parking options (including free parking on race day until 8am), a larger start and finish location, and plenty of open space to accommodate the infrastructure necessary for a 22,000 participant race.

Health & Fitness Expo

Before you Run the Rock, SHOP the Health & Fitness Expo! If you are looking for one of the largest gathering of sports fitness experts, nutrition and training products, and running enthusiasts in the Southwest, join us at the Health & Fitness Expo. With over 85 vendors and more than 60,000 people expected to attend, the Expo has something for everyone! Admission is free and open to the community! Friday from 12:00pm to 6:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 6:00pm in the Automotive Building at Fair Park.

We're looking for a few good stories! If you are training for the marathon, half marathon or relay and have a special story to tell, or if you have a friend whose story you'd like to nominate, please email us at stories@runtherock.com. The five most inspirational stories will receive a comp entry into the race. All we ask from you is that you allow us to follow your training progress on the MetroPCS Dallas White Rock Marathon website. You may also be featured in local news stories or during the live broadcast of the race on December 5th!
