All packets must be picked up at the Marathon
Fitness Expo at the Dallas Convention Center on Friday,
December 12, 2008, 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 13, 2008, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. There will be NO PACKET
PICKUP OR REGISTRATION ON RACE DAY. Packets will not be
mailed to participants. Late registration will also be
available at the Expo. For
directions and more information on the Expo, click here
to visit the Marathon Fitness Expo page.
Here is a checklist of important activities that need your attention at packet pickup (more details about these activities below):
- Make sure you make all stops to pick up all packet items: race bib, chip, participant shirt and final instructions. Don't forget safety pins!
- Check your race bib for accuracy
- Fill out the emergency contact information on the back of your bib
- Test your chip to make sure it is in working order
- See the help desk to resolve any questions or issues. Don't wait until race day to ask for help!
Please Note: One team member must pick up the packet for the entire team. We will not be handing out individual relay numbers. As a team please form a plan prior to packet pickup as to how to disperse your relay numbers, chip and wrist strap amongst yourselves. The volunteers at packet pickup will not be equipped to handle this for you.
Relay numbers are by team. Example is 5058A, 5058B, 5058C, 5058D, 5058E. It does not matter which runner wears which number. All that is required is that you fill in your name, your TEAM NAME, age and sex on the number you wear.
When you pick up your packet at the Marathon Fitness Expo, check to be sure the information on your perforated finish tag is correct and matches your running number. If there is a problem, report it immediately. The perforated tag is used to verify the information we have on you in the computer. Take the time to fill out the Emergency Information on the back of your runner number. Race-day problems can be handled at the information desk at the north American Airlines Center entrance.
Wear your running number on the FRONT of your shirt or shorts so that race officials and finish line personnel can see it. Do not cut or fold your number in any way or place a safety pin in the perforated tag. Officials must be able to see your whole number to know that you are an officially registered runner.
Please note: relay runners will wear green race bibs; half marathon runners will wear purple race bibs; first time-marathoners will wear blue race bibs and all non-first-time marathoners will wear white bibs
